Aaron, Edward S : Die Eensaamheid van 'n Verraaier

Olaf Bouwer-klub, Johannesburg, 1968

191 pages (complete). Translated into Afrikaans. Aarons was a very successful American spy/thriller novelist. Olaf Bouwer was South Africa's James Bond and the book club named for him introduced many spy novels to an Afrikaans readership. This particular novel is one of the Hugo Brink series. The book has suffered from inconsiderate storage - mostly in the sunshine. The cover is sturdy and whole, it is scuffed and worn. A previous owner has neatly reinforced the spine with clear Scotch tape. Inside, the contents are sunned and crisped: this has affected the security of the early pages some of which have been loosened. Despite this, the pages are heroically resolute, clear, clean, direct and may be read with ease, contentment and satisfaction. fk. Book Condition: Poor. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: No Jacket
