Circa 1860's. Original carte de visite photograph portrait (full length, facing left). Card dimensions 2 1/2 x 4 inches, photo dimensions 2 x 3 1/2 inches. On back, states the image is "From Photographic Negative in Brady's National Portrait Gallery". Identified in pencil in an unknown hand as "Duchess d'Abrantes". This probably refers to Marie Louise Leonie Lepic (1829-1868), the second wife of Andoche Alfred Michel Junot, the 3rd Duc d'Abrantes. Lovely portrait of a lady wearing a dark bodice and skirt over a lightly colored striped hooped skirt. She is holding a hat with a large feather.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
