Original letter signed by William H. Appleton. 5 X 8 inches. 2 pages. Dated January 17, 1893. William H. Appleton (1814-1899) was the oldest son of Daniel Appleton. William began his publishing career in 1838 and became senior member of D. Appleton & Co in 1848. In this letter, Appleton writes from Anacortes Washington to Mr. Rickoff regarding the financial soundness of a nearby bank. Appleton writes that it has bee a "few moments since he has listened to a detailed financial statement" of the banks affairs. Appleton writes, "I would advise you not to put any faith or confidence in the bank." Letter has been folded. 2 small holes on the top and bottom of letter. Letter is clean.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: No Binding
