12mo. 66 leaves. Printed on double leaves of crepe paper in Japanese style. Woodblock illustrations by Suzuki Kason. Bramhall was an author of children’s verses written in and usually set in Japan. Takejiro Hasegawa had a long association with Western missionaries and Westerners in Tokyo. It is through this association that he started printing woodblock illustrated books in the Western languages. OCLC lists 24 copies worldwide. Of the outer cover, which is crepe like the pages, only the front cover remains, detached and very frayed with some tears and portions missing. Interior in very good condition. (SPEC-1-14)
