Brody (1868-1942) was born in Hungary and studied at the Seminary and university in Berlin. He began publishing edition of Hebrew poets in 1894, with a volume of Judah Halevi. "Brody founded the bibliographical periodical Zeitschrift fur Hebraeische Bibliographie in 1896 and published it until 1906 (from 1900 to 1906 together with A. Freimann) .
