Following Ahearn: vols. 1 and 2 have Arabic numerals on spines, making them first state, vol.3 has a Roman numeral, making it a first state, and vol.4 has an Arabic numeral, so it is a later state. Green cloth stamped in black and gilt. Contemporary inscription on two title pages. All volumes a little shaken, with inner hinges starting and some wear to the cloth at extremes. The cloth on Vol. IV is a bit stained and puckered on the upper board; also, it has later marbled endpapers. A very good set, the text clean and unfoxed., Very Good.
