Rare jacketed 1st edition. Undated (Inconsistent Oxfords normal practice) but 1942. Price clipped jacket has a large chip and the head of the spine and smaller ones to the heel, wear to all corners. Now in a new protective sleeve. Book is near very good with the thin wartime boards bumped to corners. There is a small ink dealer stamp to the top edge of the inside of the front board. Leading fore edge of the text block is quite foxed and this is also reflected on the prelim pages particularly to the title page. (see image) This is not generally reflected in the text pages which have the occasional mark. Hinges are strong and unstrained. Top edge of text block is pale blue and a little dusty..
