Original publisher's white paper wrappers with staple binding. Black lettering printed on front and back covers. Manger is listed as W. H. Brennan. 6" x 9 1/4." Twenty-four pages, complete. Many black-and-white advertisements included, some of which are illustrated. Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning, some surface tearing and paper residue on back cover from pamphlet being formerly glued to something, and a small chip at top edge of back cover (likely also from the tearing) measuring about 3/4" x 1/2." A Very Good copy. This is an original program announcing the upcoming 1930 performances by the Symphony Hall Pops, also known as the Boston Pops Orchestra or the Boston Pops. The Boston Pops was founded in 1885 as an offshoot of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The idea behind the Boston Pops was to showcase "lighter music." Each listed performance by the Boston Pops in this program includes the day and location of the performance and what songs will be played. There are listed performances by the Boston Pops for June 2-7, and 9 in 1930. Most of the program is composed of ads. The following are some of the various businesses, services, and products advertised in this program: Edison Electric Illuminating Company of Boston, Vesper George School of Art, Hudson's Bay Tea, Majestic Electric Radio, Jay's [clothing store], Slattery's [concert attire], G. Washington's Coffee, Pureoxia Ginger Ale, Schrafft's Chocolates, Lovell & Covel [chocolate store], White Rock Ginger Ale, M. Steinert & Sons [music store], The Casson Galleries, Gobelin Chocolates, Hood's Old Fashioned Ice Cream, Cafe and Hotel Minerva, piano lessons by Dorothy Parker, The Arthur Wilson Studio of Singing, and Town Taxi. At center is a two-page menu listing food, drinks, snack, and cigars and cigarettes available for purchase while attending the Boston Pops concerts.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Very Good.
