One page letter, 5.5 x 8.5 inches, dated July 9, 1897 on Palace Hotel, San Francisco, stationery. Addressed to a Mr. Clark declining an invitation to get together. "it seems impossible. Every hour until the convention closes is filled with special duties." He sent along "a couple of platform tickets" in hopes that Mr. Clark or the ladies could use them. Francis E. Clark (1851-1927) was a Congregational clergyman and author. He was the president from 1887-1925 of the United Society of Christian Endeavor.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
