Burton Chauncey Cook (1819-1894) was an American politician who served in both the Illinois Senate (1852-1860) and the U.S. House of Representatives (1865-1871). He is remembered for supporting the nomination of Abraham Lincoln for president in 1860 and for placing Lincoln's name into nomination for president in 1864 during the Republican National Conventions in those two years..
