This handbook to the British Season is published in association with Royal Mail and was inspired by a set of five stamps issued in 1994 and called Summertime.The stamps were designed by Matthew Cook and they feature the Royal Welsh Show, Wimbledon,Cowe's,Lord's and the Royal Highland Games.The book contains the events featured on the stamps and seventeen more besides and the illustrations are accompanied by a witty and informative text from Paul Duncan.
The Season is one of the most curious things about life in the British Isles.
