Image area measures approx. 210 x 130 mm. some superficial soiling, light creasing in the margins. Cooper published his first fiction, Precaution, in 1820. The following year, he published The Spy, which marked the onset of international fame and a degree of wealth. The family lived in Europe from 1826 until 1833.
