COUPER, J.R : Mixed Humanity: A Story of Camp Life in South Africa

J.C. Juta & Co. / W.H.Allen, 1892

First Edition. A scarce work of fiction, containing much material relating to diamonds and boxing in South Africa in the Diamond Fields area during the early period. A fine association copy from the library of Alpheus Williams, son of Gardner Williams (Rhodes' chief engineer). On the verso of the fep he has identified in ink nine of the real personages on which the various characters are based (including Barnato). Very good in the original red cloth gilt, spine faded and stained, small stain on front board, contents clean and tight with the hinges uncracked.
