Original black-and-white photograph mounted on beige board. The photo shows a group portrait of numerous people seated or standing on rocks along a scenic river in a small canyon. Trees are visible in the background. There are about twenty-three sitters visible in the photo. The sitters comprise men, women, and children. They all appear to be dressed in formal attire of the period. Although the location is not disclosed, it is likely somewhere in the United States. No date, circa 1880s-1890s. Photo: 4 1/2" x 7 1/2." Board: 7" x 9 3/4." Photograph is virtually pristine and intact except for minuscule edge wear, a few almost imperceptible marks or scratches, and some fading that runs from top to bottom and extends about 1/2" from the right edge. Board is very clean and intact except for minimal edge wear and slight darkening to front and back. A Very Good copy. The bottom margin of the board on front and the back of the board have printed text identifying the photographer as "W. N. Collom" [William N. Collom] at "69 Flood Building, San Francisco." Some of the promotional text on the back reads, "General Viewing; Residences, Buildings, Live Stock, Farms, Orchards, Landscapes, Portraits and Groups." "H. E. Richardson" [Harry Richardson] is also handwritten in black ink at the top on back.. Photographic Image. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
