No date. Circa late 1880'-1890's. In biography mentions dore's death in 1893.Altemus. Containing 100 superb illustrations and a page of explanatory letter-press facing each. Nice frontispiece illustra tion of Dore. Among the many illustrators are Pannemaker, Bert Rand, Martes and Fagman. About 200 pages.12x91/2.Less than fair condition with dark brown cloth boards and black and gold lettering and I llustrations on front. White lettering at bottom. All gold lettering worn off spine. Spine is damaged. Torn part is repairable but 11/2 inches of bottom is missing with rough edge tearing. Front hinge is only being held on by gauze. Frontispiece , title page, and part of preface while one piece, is completely separated from book. Many edge tears. Rest of book has looseness. Rear board is barely ho lding on.
