This edition/volume is the first,trade edition, single-volume edn of those two titles,a year later in 1934.] NFINE.No owner inscrptn and no dw/dj.Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered, publisher's original dark brown textured cloth boards with bright,crisp,blocked,non-oxidised gilt lettering to a lightly sunned/faded spine/backstrip,a grey+white striped headband and brown+beige wood-grain effect illustrated endpapers; with negligible shelf-wear or bumping,creasing to edges and corners - no major nicks,tears,splits or fraying present.Head of spine/backstrip with minimal creasing and lightly pulled (as in book removed from shelf by fore-finger or thumbs) causing a small fraying tear at head towards front board's spine/ backstrip's gutter's edge/fold.Bottom edge of same minimally bumped with reciprocal creasing and production(?) fault to front,lower corner,of an unglued smallish wrinkle to cloth.Top edges coloured brown,fore-edges lightly aged/toned, bottom edges deckled (untrimmed); chain-laid paper contents bright with some page-edge toning,some minimal random,scattered blemishes throughout,but still tight,clean,solid and sound - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners,appears unread - apart from my own collation.UK,8vo HB minus dw/dj,1st edn thus,v-viipp+1-527pp [paginated] includes subject's introduction,illustrations list/table,8 monochrome collotypes interspersed throughout the text and all called for (present),an index; plus [unpaginated] half-title with page-edge toning,b/w vignetted title page reverse of which with indeterminate splatter splashes to and concomitant on the opposite page.
