Photograph is pristine and intact except for slightly bumped corners and minuscule age toning. A Fine copy. Charles Egelston (1886-1958) was an American actor who was born in Covington, Kentucky. He ventured into the world of acting at a young age with the help of his uncle, John Havlin, who was a theatrical agent in Covington and Cincinnati and owner of the Havlin Hotel in Cincinnati. Egelston's inscription refers to his well-known role as Shuffle Shober in the radio soap opera, Ma Perkins, which aired from 1933-1960 on NBC and later CBS. Ma Perkins is about the eponymous widow, played by actress Virginia Payne, who helps the people in her town with their troubles while managing a lumber yard and raising her three children. Shuffle is Ma's best friend. Egelston played the role of Shuffle from 1933 until his passing in 1958.. Photographic Image. Book Condition: Collectible-Fine. Binding: No Binding
