Chapbook collection of short stories, excerpts from published work, and work-in-progress. The first and only edition. Published in a small and limited print run as a softcover original only. There is no ISBN. The chapbook is the single most rare McSweeney's publication. An austerely elegant production by The Editors of McSweeney's: Regular-sized volume format. Pictorial softcovers with titles on the cover and spiral binding, as issued. Contributions by various authors. Illustrations appended at the end. One quotation each from Rudolph Valentino and Sigmund Freud on the back cover. Printed on pristine-white, archival stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Published on the occasion of the one-time-only reading held at the Diesel Bookstore on May 6, 2003 to help raise funds for Dave Eggers' justly celebrated project, 826 Valencia, a writing and tutoring center for young people in San Francisco. Presents "McSweeney's Stories of Love And Neuroses". A treasurable collection. The project has since successfully expanded throughout the country. The Contributions are "Fever" by Michael Chabon, "True Story" by Amanda Davis, "Naturally" by Daniel Handler (the writer better-known as Lemony Snicket), and "Favor" by Ayelet Waldman. All of the pieces appear in published form for the very first (and as far as we know, only) time. An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Michael Chabon, Daniel Handler, Ayelet Waldman, Dave Eggers, and McSweeney's collectors. This copy is very prominently and beautifully signed on the first page by Michael Chabon (in blue pen), Ayelet Waldman (in black pen-marker), and Daniel Handler (in black ink-pen). Chabon and Waldman are a husband-and-wife writing team. Amanda Davis, who had published a debut novel and a short story collection, died on March 14, 2003. Daniel Handler is the serious side of Lemony Snicket. This title is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only such multi-signed copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. A rare signed copy thus. Four of the finest American writers of our time. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER MICHAEL CHABON, DANIEL HANDLER, AND DAVE EGGERS TITLES IN OUR CATALOG).
