Original black and white portrait photograph that shows Andre Eglevsky in a dance pose wearing a costume. No date, circa late 1930s-early 1940s. 8" x 10." On the back are two stamps: "Andre Eglevsky" and "S. Hurok presents the Greatest in Russian Ballet by the Ballet Theatre." Photograph is very clean and intact. A fine copy. Andre Eglevsky (1917-1977) was a Russian-born ballet dancer and teacher. After his early years of dancing in Europe, he came to the United States in 1937. Eglevsky danced with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in both Europe and the U.S. In the late 1930s and early 1940s, he also danced with the (American) Ballet Theatre.. Photographic Image.
