First UK Edition (first printing), issued the same year as the US edition but somewhat more uncommon. 8vo. 375pp. Blue pebbled cloth lettered in silver at the spine. Edges and endpapers lightly spotted and with a touch of toning to the paperstock. A very good copy in price-clipped pictorial dust wrapper, lightly faded at the spine panel, with just a hint of chafing to one or two extremities and a single tiny closed tear. A quite early Evan Hunter novel, just the sixth published under this pen-name (he legally adopted the moniker in 1952 but is perhaps more famous under his 'Ed McBain' pseudonym).. Book.
