Original stereocard on beige board. Features two stereoscopic black-and-white photographs. 7" x 3 1/2." Stereocard is very clean and intact overall. Board is age-toned with a few scratches and tiny spots of discoloration. Photographs are clean and intact except for a few tiny marks and light surface wear. Shallow chip in the top margin not affecting images that measures about 3 1/4" x 1/4." A Good copy. Title and copyright information printed on the right image at the bottom. Copyright information: "Copyright 1900 by C. H. Graves, Phila." Printed text on the left side of board on front: "C. H. Graves, Publisher and Gen'l Manager, Philadelphia, U. S. A." Printed text on right side on front: "Sold only by agents of The Universal Photo Art Co." This stereocard shows a bird's eye view of the neoclassical arch bridge, Norrbro, in Stockholm, Sweden. Norrbro spans one of the shortest rivers in Europe, Norrstrom. This view is parallel to the bridge with the sides to the left and right. Pedestrians, horse-drawn carriages, and trams are visible in the scene. A man looks over the bridge to the left. Carlton Harlow Graves (1867-1943) was an American photographer and publisher of stereocards. His father, Jesse Albert Graves, was also a photographer. Jesse specialized in scenic views of western Pennsylvania and taught Carlton his craft. Around 1880, Carlton began his career as a professional photographer and founded the Universal Photo Art Company in 1895. While Carlton had founded several companies that distributed prints, the Universal Photo Art Co. was the most successful and stayed in business until 1910. Carlton's catalog eventually came to encompass around 1600 photographs.. Photographic Image. Book Condition: Collectible-Good. Binding: No Binding
