Letter handwritten in black ink on beige paper. Datelined February 24, 1834 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 7 3/4" x 9 3/4." One page. Letter reads: "Cambridge, Feb. 24, 1834, My dear Sir, "Supposing you may feel anxious to know that your letter of the 22nd has been read, I hasten to say that the subject will be particularly attended to on Friday, as you request. In haste, your friend obediently, S. Greenleaf." Letter is clean and intact overall. Simon Greenleaf (1783-1853) was an American lawyer, jurist, and professor. Greenleaf wrote several books on law. His best-known work is the Treatise on the Law of Evidence (three volumes, 1842-1853). Greenleaf was also a significant figure in legal or juridical apologetics, a discipline that uses legal concepts to defend Christianity.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
