HOLLAND, Henry Scott (1847-1918) : A 1pp. Typed Letter on Christ Church Oxford Lerterhead, Signed, Dated March 7th 1913

Holland writes to Dr. Carter, referring to an address, praiising it with deep emotion, and saying "I think we ought to call attention to it with all our power....It is a new moment in American history". Although not so stated, this presumably refers to Woodrow Wilson's first Inaugural Address of March 4th. Henry Scott Holland (27 January 1847 – 17 March 1918) was Regius Professor of Divinity at the University of Oxford. He was also a canon of Christ Church, Oxford.
