Printed slip: 'With Lt. -Co. Urwick's compliments' laid in. Also laid in is a 1955 booklet reprint from the British Management Review: Lieutenant-Colonel Lyndall Fownes Urwick, Recipient of the Gold Medal of CIOS, 1951. The booklet is in very good condition with a small skinned spot where a label was removed at bottom edge of front cover. Lyndall Fownes Urwick (1891-1983) was an British management consultant and business thinker. He is recognized for integrating the ideas of earlier theorists like Henri Fayol into a comprehensive theory of management administration. He wrote an influential book called The Elements of Business Administration, published in 1943.
