Collection of two original billheads printed in black ink on light beige paper. Also includes handwriting in black ink. One billhead is simply an extension of the first page. Billheads affixed at top with glue. Dated 1898 in Auburn, California (dateline not filled in but dated below by hand). 8 1/2" x 14." Two pages. Billheads are very clean and intact overall except for light age toning, a few horizontal fold lines, slight wrinkling, slight splitting along the folds, and tape repair on the first billhead (first page) at left edge. Each billhead and the entire collection are Very Good. A collection of two original billheads from grocer J. F. Hodge of Auburn, California to "Tamale Kitchen." Tamale Kitchen bought multiple line items spanning the month of August from August 1 to August 31. Among the items purchased were "Eggs," "Crackers," "Tea," "Melon," "Coffee," "Sugar," "Butter," "Cantelope [sic]," "Lobsters," "Sardines," "Mustard," "Peaches," "Corn," "Cucumbers," "Bacon," "Pickles," "Swiss cheese," "Beans," "Ham," "Tobasco [sic] Sauce," "Crackers," and "Grapes."
