The letter introduces the sons of Lord Brownlow who will visit Dresden as part of their tour, and requests elliot's protection and good offices. Hugh Elliot was the minister plenipotentiary in Dresden at the time as part of a long diplomatic career, eventually becoming governor of the Leeward Islands. Robert Banks Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool, KG, PC, FRS (7 June 1770 – 4 December 1828) was a British statesman and both the youngest and longest-serving Prime Minister (1812–27) since 1806.
