[Johanna was an 18th Century descendent of Hans Hansen Bergen one of the earliest settlers of the New Amsterdam Dutch colony. The Bergen family name is famous throughout Brooklyn, New York and Hans boasts his own Wikipedia entry.] The 13.5 x 12 inch book contains 41 pages filled with such topics as Simple Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division, Money of the United States, Simple Reduction, English Money, Apothecaries Weight, Long Measure, Land Measure, Liquid Measure, Dry Measure, and Compound Addition and Subtraction most written on the front and back. The protecting boards are rubbed, the text block loose from the boards, pages beginning to brittle and have light chipping and the pages splitting but the text is clean and bright all data intact in a lovely hand.
