First edition, this apparently one of a number produced for the US market, with an imprint slip of Colgate University Press pasted over the Macdonald imprint on the title page. 8vo. 400pp. Blue-green cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with Powys' facsimile signature gold-stamped to the upper board. With a frontispiece portrait of Powys by Augustus John and three plates of facsimile letters. Edges lightly spotted and with a narrow strip of light partial browning to the free endpapers. A very good copy in quite poor non-price-clipped dust wrapper, toned and a little dust marked and soiled, with several inches of loss from the head of the front panel/spine panel. Thomas E6.. Book.
