All they care about is to fill their pockets with money enough to well down a tub full of larger beer or a mug of rum. There is no more American feeling in these rightfully named Know Nothings of New York, than there is in the Pope of Rome... There has been a great of excitement east lately in relation to the tarring & feathering of a Catholic Jesuit Priest ... at Ellsworth ME ... He had interfered with their schools, their churches and their private business and the only way they clean him up was to apply the tar & feathers to the tricky Jesuits.
