Black and white illustrations and reprinted black and white photographs, complete. Pages and covers are very clean and intact. Binding is tight. In the upper-left corner of the front cover are numbers handwritten in pen. Green stamp is on the front cover and faintly on the first page that says, "John F. Kennedy Senior High School Library, Sacramento City Unified School District, Sacramento, California." A fine copy. The author gives a history of Haiti from the time Christopher Columbus landed there to the present in 1920. Written from an American perspective. Emphasis is placed on Haiti's political unrest and the occupation of the United States. Page 512 shows a reprinted photograph of a Siberian woman, which may accompany an article in a later issue..
