UK,Qrto HB+dw/dj,1st edn.[Not stated 1st edn,but no other indications that it is isn't one.I do have another example of same title,but with glossy,identical d/w/dj illustration as this edn,decorated boards and with identical publication date and 9-figure SBN too.Some sources list that title as issued without a dw/dj.] No owner inscrptn,and no clip to dw/dj - absence of publisher's price - these genrally believed to be export copies,before domestic distribtion/issue.Bright,crisp,clean,wrap-around pale blue background with colour pictorial artwork by Janet+Anne Grahame Johnstone, illustrated dw/dj panels with capitalised brown+black lettering to front,capitalised black lettered spine/backstrip and no lettering to a single,centrally placed,colour pictorial illustration of a small boy juggling 4 black+red card-suit symbols.Minimal,superficial scoring/indents wihout any penetration to boards beneath; and faint,minimal and minor creasing to either panel of dw/dj.Due to proximity of a slightly smaller book's storage alongside or on top when laid flat,a very narrow strip of fade along both top,bottom edges,and spine's gutter's edges/fold front+back,and ubiquitous and inevitable but faint fade to spine which also has minimal bumping with reciprocal creasing to both head+foot of same.Negligible shelf-wear to edges and corners - no major tears or splits - although there are the tiniest of snicks to all the dw/dj's top+bottom folds at spine and flaps. Bright,crisp,clean,textured white paper-covered boards with bright,crisp,blocked gilt capitalised letters to front board and spine/ backstrip and clean,repeated colour pictorial illustrated endpapers.A small 1cm split in front hinge but without adverse effect - remainder of hinge intact,as is the rear board's hinge.
