Original map of Fife, a local authority area, and the burgh of Kinross in Scotland. Most of map is black-and-white. Points of elevation and routes have a brown color. No date, circa 1890s. 10" x 6 1/2." Map has vertical fold lines, which may be original. Formerly in a book, a possible folding map. Map is very clean and intact except for a few wrinkles, slight age toning, and a chip limited to left margin. A Very Good copy. Map shows Fife and Kinross with the Firth of Forth in the lower-right corner. Cities, routes, and natural features are shown. Many of the geographic features are labeled. Neatline included. Engraved by W. & A. K. Johnston, an engraving firm founded in 1826 by brothers William Johnston (1802-1888) and Alexander Keith Johnston (1804-1871) in Scotland. Published by the famous publishing company, A. & C. Black, which was founded in 1807 by Adam Black (1784-1874) in Edinburgh. A. & C. Black is still in business to this day.. Map.
