Original black-and-white map of Loch Lomond in Scotland. Dark orange lines highlight routes. No date, circa 1890s. 13 1/2" x 6 1/2." Map has vertical fold lines, most of which may be original (at least one of the folds is not original). Formerly in a book, a possible folding map. Map is very clean and intact except for a few wrinkles and slight age toning. A Very Good copy. Map shows Loch Lomond and surrounding area. Cities, routes, and other natural features are shown. Scale of distance in miles and neatline included. Engraved by W. & A. K. Johnston, an engraving firm founded in 1826 by brothers William Johnston (1802-1888) and Alexander Keith Johnston (1804-1871) in Scotland. Published by the famous publishing company, A. & C. Black, which was founded in 1807 by Adam Black (1784-1874) in Edinburgh. A. & C. Black is still in business to this day.. Map. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
