Original color map of Oban, Mull, and surrounding area in Scotland. Map has colors of light green and brown. No date, circa 1890s. 18 1/2" x 6 1/2." Map has vertical fold lines, which may be original. Formerly in a book, a possible folding map. Map is very clean and intact except for a few wrinkles and slight age toning. A Very Good copy. Map shows the town of Oban, Isle of Mull, and surrounding area. Firth of Lorn and Mull prominently featured on left side of map. Cities, routes, and natural features are shown. Scale of distance in miles and neatline included. Engraved by W. & A. K. Johnston, an engraving firm founded in 1826 by brothers William Johnston (1802-1888) and Alexander Keith Johnston (1804-1871) in Scotland. Published by the famous publishing company, A. & C. Black, which was founded in 1807 by Adam Black (1784-1874) in Edinburgh. A. & C. Black is still in business to this day.. Map. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
