Henry May Kein (b. 1841--d. 1899) was from an old and prominent Reading, PA family. He graduted from Union College in New York in 1862 and served twice in the Civil War, first with Company * of the 11th Pennsylvania Militia and next as a Lieutenant in Company A of the 53rd Pennsylvania. He was later successful in law, business and government. In 1885 he was appointed U.S. Consul at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
