Abstract: this investigation was designed to develop and experimentally test peer counseling procecures implemented in response to correctional facility resident interest in self improvement and independant functioning. Specifically, the study attempted to determine the relative effect of the use of a Peer Counseling Program [PCP] a specific 80 hour inmate led classroom and group counseling program -- on vonlunteers confied to a Federal Correctional Institution. Self ratings and behavioraldifferences were examined amoung four groups of volunteer inmates, two of wich received training, while the training for the other two was held in abeyance. The final two Groups were again offered the training subsequent to the completion of the study. etc. etc. Excellent source for study. Poignent research material for students and academics. Delves into this subject with fresh ideas and thoughts, a good read. This book contains good information for persons wanting to enhance their knowledge of the subject matter in particular.
