New Hampton with 21 men making 106 men here." Electing officers....- detailed description of deserter -- "...has I suspect left here to avoid the service..." Wants the state to send a man and money to find him. "I feel I have spent time and money enough myself..." On 3rd page the Adjt.-General replies - :The presumption is, that your deserter will cost as much as he is worth to look him up -- in as much he has never been mustered into service..." VG.
