A lovely and interesting vade mecum to the sights of the old capital, Kyoto. Has historical maps, as well as contemporary maps and prints of sights to see, of tales and facts about the past. A number of Kyoto school artists from mid-Meiji have cooperated to create the dreamy, subtle color woodblocks which are very well printed. There is a total of some 67 double page prints, along with 6 maps, some quite large. In very good condition, the typeset text runs to over nine hundred pages! A remarkable production.
