Original small broadside printed in black ink on brown paper. 6" x 11 1/2." No date, circa 1923-1926. Two pages (one leaf printed front and back), complete. Advertisements and business directory on front and back. Program is clean and intact but is fragile and has browning, a few horizontal fold lines, and small closed tears at the edges. A Very Good copy. Broadside and program for a production of Edward J. Locke's drama, The Climax, starring Guy Bates Post and directed by Melville B. Raymond. The play took place at the Lurie Theatre (1923-1926) in Oakland, California. The theater building where the Lurie had resided was founded in 1912 and was first known as the Pantages Theatre. The theater underwent several changes in ownership and was renamed the Hippodrome Theatre in 1926, Premier Theatre in 1932, the Roosevelt Theatre in 1934, and finally the Downtown Theatre in 1939. The theater remained open until 1947.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
