Original publisher's brochure on red cardstock. One leaf folded in half and printed on all sides. 5 1/2" x 7 1/2." Four pages, complete. Printer is listed on the back as "Stockwitz Press, 1762 Geary St." Brochure is very clean and intact. Faint scratch marks on first page (virtually imperceptible). A Fine copy. William McDevitt was an author, bookseller, and political activist of the Socialist Party. He owned bookstores on Sutter and Fillmore Streets in San Francisco, California. One of the store addresses, "2079 Sutter Street," is listed on the front. McDevitt corresponded between several prominent literary figures of the day, including Upton Sinclair, Jack London, and George Sterling. This brochure features a 1925 calendar and a poem describing San Francisco's weather. Excerpt from poem: "Where early April and late May / Induce Mid-June to join their play, / And hand in hand the triplets gay, / With mists or trades or sunshine's sway, / Chase all the other months away. / Thereby our calendar unique / On Julian-Gregory's casts a fleer: / Four seasons here you need not seek-- / We have but one--four times a year." After the poem is the caption, "Written July 4th, 1924, when San Francisco's 24-hour range of temperature was from 52 to 57 [degrees Fahrenheit].". Book. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: Soft cover
