Original publisher's blue cloth binding with gilt lettering on front cover. 5" x 6 3/4." 126 pages, complete. The following is handwritten in black ink on front pastedown: "F. D. Arnold, Chicago, August 16th, 1905. Hoquiam, Wash. April 20, 1906." Pages and covers of book are very clean and intact. Binding is tight. Minimal age and edge wear on covers. A fine copy. This is an apocryphal book first published in 1884 by Rev. William Mahan and also appears under the title, The Archko Volume. Mahan was assisted by two enigmatic scholars, Dr. M. McIntosh of Scotland and Dr. Twyman of England. The Archko Library purports to contain English translations of ancient Jewish and Roman manuscripts contemporary with the life of Jesus. The book was debunked as a hoax and Mahan was convicted by an ecclesiastical court of falsehood and plagiarism.. Book. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: Hardcover
