Original publisher's green paper-covered boards. No lettering to spine. No date, circa 1930. 4 1/2" x 6 1/4." Twenty-one pages, complete. Pages and covers are very clean and intact overall. Binding is tight. Pages have minuscule age toning, slight bumping in the upper-right corner, and about one word of text that is missing on Page 5 because it became adhered to Page 4. Covers have a few marks on front and back, slight age toning, slight bumping in the upper-right corner, and a small scuff or bit of discoloration in the upper-right corner on front. A Very Good copy. An advance printing of part of Cosmopolitan's April 1930 issue. The featured story is an autobiographical essay by O. O. McIntyre (1884-1938), a newspaper columnist who was based in New York. McIntyre became one of the most successful columnists at the time with his popular writings and syndication. In this book, McIntyre says he wouldn't trade jobs with Hoover because of how much he enjoys his job as a columnist. McIntyre humorously describes his career to date and talks about his job's financial security and good work-life balance, his early years as a writer, and his many letters from readers. The rest of the book provides a sampling of stories and features in the April 1930 issue and advertisers who partnered with Cosmopolitan for that issue. Cosmopolitan Magazine (Cosmo) was founded in March 1886 in New York as a family magazine. It later became a literary magazine. In 1965, Cosmo changed its target demographic to women.
