Boards rather worn, with some fishmothing; simple duct tape repair to spine, and some archival tape reinforcing internally to upper hinge; two ink stamps to front free endpaper; some very light foxing. The most authoritative survey of post-War naval strength, with no country neglected. South Africa earns just one page, with a surveying vessel, a few frigates and minesweepers, motor launches, and a boom defence vessel noted. "Special Note.-It has been officially announced by the Minister of Defence that the South African Government intends to increase the naval establishment and is negotiating with Great Britain for one or two destroyers."
