General Miles (1839-1925) served in the Civil War, the Indian Wars; and the Spanish-American War. He won the Medal of Honor in 1862 at Chancellorville. He played a role in nearly all of the Army's campaigns against the American Indians in the West - fought the Cheyenne / Lakota / Nez Perce / and captured Geromimo in the Apache wars.
