Here are some snippets: "How quaint and foreign everything looked! Instead of a taxi we mounted into a calech an old world vehicle like a huge pram." "It took some time to steer into the centre of the city. At one time we were in line with cars four deep across the street. I never saw anything approaching the state of affairs in Detroit, cars, cars everywhere and a big poster announcing Ford 10th Million car now on service!!"
