Fully written this New York State woman details the everyday life, chores, illnesses and society of pioneers. The book, a Christmas present from her husband always starts with the weather her duties and what the " Men folk did" like hunting and chores, business and finances. Illness dogged this woman during 1874 and she talks about that and the people she knows who came to dinner, what they ate for dinner; she went and killed a rabbit for dinner, churn butter and milk cows and butchering. They made sugar for a syrup, and are always boiling sap. In the memorandum section of the book she writes how much they made off of the sugar and how much she used, letters written, clothes purchased and prices of everyday goods. A great deal of genealogical information will be mined from her writings. In good shape and quite legible.. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Original Wraps
