(1901 - 2003), grandson of Dr. Samuel A. Mudd, and contains two new chapters: Descendants of Dr. Samuel Alexander Mudd, prepared by Richard D. Mudd, and Letters Not in Original Edition -- Dr. Mudd's Pardon, and two new illustrations, one of the present Dr. Mudd and his wife sitting on the couch on which John Wilkes Booth was examined on April 15, 1865 by Samuel A.
