Internally clean, and bright and crisp overall, it is a near-fine copy due to a touch of edgewear to boards and some faint light foxing on fore-edge of bookblock. The color-illustrated dust jacket is price clipped, shows general light soiling, and is edge chipped. The first part of Waley's translation, through the "Aoi" chapter, which became the first complete English language translation of Murasaki's classic tale upon its completion in 1933., Fine
