A notable work from a leading figure of Victorian Science. Owen, an anatomist and paleontologist was an early critic of Darwin's theories. He is best remembered for coining the term "dinosaur". This work is a fleshing out of lectures that Owen gave to the Royal College of Surgeons twenty years ealier.
