The collection, put together by a Miss Harrison ca. 1830-1840, consists of 114 Free Frank fronts mounted in a contemprrary 1/2 leather blank notebook. The spine has disintegrated and the boards are detached. The sheets and fronts are in very good condition, and the fronts are mounted on one side of each page, making the collection easily separated. Each front is autographed by the sender. Apart from Palmerston and William Cobbett, the collection represents a wide range of Parliamentarians of the period of the Reform bill, ranging from a large number of members of the Aristocracy as well as leading churchmen, some naval and military figures etc. A list of the fronts is available. All have a free frank stamp; several have in addition variants of the "To Pay"stamps and some also have town stamps (e.g Duke of Bedford Woburn). Please contact for further details and images.
